39 weeks, hopefully only 7 more days to go!

Well- some exciting news this week!
Lucas got here last night and won't be leaving again without me or Dakota!! WOO HOO!!

Had to take pictures because I was so excited that I won't have to say goodbye to him again!!! Yay!
So our next appointment will be this Monday so we will see if there has been any change since Tuesday (our previous appointment). We are starting to think that Dakota wishes to be a due date baby, like her daddy and 10% of other babies born! We shall see!! Nothing much else to update this week really. Just still very uncomfortable and fatigued. Dakota seems to be thriving off of my lack of energy because she is still moving around like crazy in here! I will give an update on Monday after the appointment- everyone cross your fingers that we have made change!!!! Quite possibly the last belly pics here and update on baby girl! Love you all and wish us luck! *Maybe* see you next week!

39 weeks pregnantYour Baby in Week 39 of Pregnancy
Coming down to the wire, your baby weighs around seven to eight pounds and measures 19 to 21 inches. Those measurements won't change much from now on, but her brain is still growing at an astonishing rate, a pace that will continue for the first three years of life. Her pink skin has now turned whitish (even babies who'll eventually have darker skin appear whitish now — they haven't yet developed pigment). Her head may have dropped into your pelvis by now, which makes your breathing easier but walking harder.

38 weeks and almost there!!

Well YES, as many of you have been asking i'm STILL pregnant! Haha Not much to add this week- just very ready for Dakota :) We had a 37 week appointment on Tuesday and had an ultrasound to find out just how *big* our little girl has gotten. Well turns out she has gained 13oz in 2 weeks!!! They are saying she is measuring close to 7lbs 15oz  (don't forget, those measurements could be +/- 15oz) Yikes!! No wonder I have no energy- she is taking everything from me!! So either way, this little girl is going to be at least 7lbs!

The Dr said I haven't made any change so still dilated at 1cm (BOO!) and they said I should start watching for signs of labor, which I have been praying for!! Lol Everything else is great- Lucas and I have been cleaning & nesting like crazy! We had a great shower here on LI on the 16th & got a TON of great stuff!! Hoping to have a *baby party* with all of our close friends when she is actually here!

My parents took off for Florida to sign for their condo on Tuesday and will be back this coming Wednesday so I have the house to myself....well besides the 2 dogs, 2 cats and 3 birds!! I'm *trying* to hold her in until they get back but I am not promising anyone anything anymore! Lol Thats it for now... still hanging in there- trying to be comfortable for these next couple days/weeks and hoping I don't have to say goodbye to my husband anymore <3

Here are some belly pics from this week & last week and some info about the peanut this week! Thanks for reading guys!!

Here's what's happening during Week 38 of your pregnancy:

Baby, fetus at 38 weeks - BabyCenterYou're probably having a whole lot of back and neck strain, lots of fatigue, and not much relief! You continue to add a pound a week and have a hard time getting around gracefully. Don't be tempted to try to induce labor with herbs or castor oil. Herbal supplements are unregulated by the FDA and can contain highly variable concentrations and unlisted ingredients that may be dangerous. Keep eating small, frequent, nutritious meals, and if you think that your contractions may be the real thing, eat something. The calories will help fortify you for the job at hand.

Baby's now the size of a watermelon!

The last bits of vernix caseosa (the white goo keeping baby's skin moist) and lanugo (downy hair) are slowly shedding into your amniotic fluid. Baby's head is about the same circumference as her abdomen, and her head could be covered in an inch or so of hair.

35w5d!!

A bit of news this week! Yay! I went to the OB for a 35wk checkup/ultrasound on Tuesday to see just how big Dakota is- Turns out she is weighing in at 7lbs2oz (+/- 15 oz)- They said amniotic fluid was in normal range, her heartbeat was 139 and she is measuring in the 78th percentile which is perfectly normal!!
Also turns out, she is measuring at 38w3d [instead of 35w3d]!!!! Now this could change when I go in for an ultrasound on the 18th because she may be going through a growth spurt... She may also come early, but they can't tell that yet. My due date stays @ Feb. 5th and we will see- Either way, She will come when she is ready!! No ultrasound pictures to share because she was head down and covering her face with her hands- She is done with giving us pictures, I'm pretty sure shes just anxious to be here already!!!! Well Dakota, we are ready for you sweet thing!! So I will give another update on Saturday, maybe the belly will have grown more by then :) Heres some info about her and a few belly pics! Thanks for reading!!

Week 35 of Pregnancy
35 weeks pregnant
A rapidly growing brain makes your baby's head weigh more and that means more pressure on Mommy's bladder.
Your Baby in Week 35 of Pregnancy
Your baby is standing tall (so to speak) this week at about 20 inches and continues her steady weight gain (she’s about 5.5 pounds). While she won't get much longer, she will continue to pack on the pounds — including large amounts of baby fat — right up 'til delivery day. Something else that's moving at a mind-boggling pace these day: fetal brain development! There’s a lot going on inside that tiny head, which is, by the way, still soft to allow an easier exit through the birth canal.

Your Body in Week 35 of Pregnancy
Now that your baby is head-down in preparation for delivery, chances are your bladder is feeling the squeeze, causing you to leak a little every time you sneeze (or cough or laugh) or making you feel like you have an urgent need to pee all the time. Whatever you do, don’t cut back on fluids! One way to improve your body's holding power instead: Do lots and lots of those pelvic-floor exercises called Kegels. They can help strengthen your pelvic muscles (important now and postpartum)
