21 weeks

Sorry I'm late guys! 21 weeks and growing! Went to Long Island from Thursday night until Monday night and we got home at 1am on Tuesday- so needless to say, Lucas and I have been running on E. We spent most of the time relaxing and being with our parents. We had a great time though- went to the Maritime Festival in Greenport, NY on Sunday- ate some good food, and Lucas drank some good beer :) .....
Update on baby! So in one week she has changed a lot-Lucas has finally felt her kick!! He found it fascinating and then she stopped and he couldn't feel her anymore. She has been kicking a lot more and I've realized its during certain times of the day- She is most active around 11am, 6pm, and 11pm. I can tell what side of my belly she is lying on and she has been rolling around a lot! :) Mommy has had a lot of trouble with leg cramps, but only at night right before sleep and during sleep- so a lot of the time the pain wakes me up. NOT FUN! So I catch up on my sleep a lot during the day which ruins my daily schedule. I have learned to not be so affected by these changes though and I just go along with them- its the only way I'm going to be able to survive the rest of this pregnancy!! So not much else to update this week guys, sorry!! Here's the update of how big the princess is and 21 week belly pics!!!!

Thanks for reading!!

Your Pregnancy: Week 21

Gasp...is that a stretch mark?!! Take deep breaths and remember -- they'll fade after delivery. Your skin may also feel dry and itchy, especially over your emerging bump. Take a cue from your fetus, now coated by vernix (a milky, protective cream), and slather on the lotion.

Baby's now the size of a banana!
Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion, and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, if baby is a girl, her womb is now stocked up with her lifetime supply of six million eggs (the number will drop to around one million by birth).

20 weeks and HALF WAY!!

So I cant believe it and I bet neither can any of you that we are half way through this pregnancy!! It feels like just yesterday that we found out and were so nervous about telling everyone! So there isnt much of an update this weeks guys so im going to fill it in with a pregnancy quiz and of course some pictures. So she is still kicking very randomly and not very often. However I think she is onto something because she kicks right after Lucas leaves for work and stops when he gets home and I guess she notices and I think she gets upset when he leaves. So yes, that means daddy has yet to feel baby kick!! I have been getting little energy boosts here and there, its not fully restored yet but I feel 1000% better than I did in the first couple months. I just have to remember to take it easy because of my back and hips, which I've already overdone it so many times already. Okay enough about me lets learn about baby this week!!

According to http://www.thebump.com/

Baby's now the size of a cantaloupe!Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you'd like your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

According to www.FitPregnancy.com
By week 20, your baby begins to produce vernix, a white, creamy substance that protects his skin in his watery environment. Permanent teeth are starting to form behind his baby teeth. He seems able to differentiate between morning, afternoon and evening and starts to become more active at certain times than at others.

Okay so here is the quiz/status update and I have to give credit to Lindsey! I stole the format for it off her blog- So Thanks Lindsey.. For everything!!! You're the best!

Our first post on the baby blog! 19 weeks and counting!!

So here we go! I know I should have been posting a while ago,
but we dont have internet so if im ever late with posts, don't worry- it'll be coming soon!
....So what can I say?! I am 19 weeks and currently weighing in at 140 lbs- That means ive already gained 14 lbs! We dont know much but we do know that this baby will be healthy! Lucas and I were misled 7 weeks ago to believe that the baby was a boy and as most of you know we just found out last week that it is

A GIRL!!
All grandparents know the name we have picked out but we would like for her name to remain a secret to everyone else for personal reasons! I was in such shock and disbelief when we found out and I couldn't wait to call my mother because out of 9 grandchildren, she has not one granddaughter!! Lucas kept asking what percentage the ultrasound tech was sure it was a girl and why is she laying like that?! She was laying like she was folded in half, silly girl!! He is so excited and he can't wait to have a daddys girl!

Oh exciting! I starting feeling actual kicking on monday the 13th, very random and daddy hasn't felt it yet but its all so new to us- everytime we get used to a certain way that I feel (emotionally and physically) it changes drastically. I have had a LOT of trouble sleeping lately and so Lucas has been suffering, which he has been SO good about! Between leg cramps and back pain and peeing every other hour, sleep seems more and more distant. So im sure you guys want to see what the belly looks like this week so here you go! Im also going to be posting the latest ultrasound photos from last week.
Okay well thats it for now... If I think of anything else I'll be sure to post again this week!
